VIRTUS OFFICIUM SODALITAS

The Solo Rugby Club, formally The Dixon Rugby Football Club, was established in 2006 for the primary purpose of developing players with strong character. Winning and losing, though important in the development of a solid sense of self-worth, have always been secondary to the lessons of teamwork, commitment, loyalty, honor, integrity, pride, selflessness, self-sacrifice, hard work and personal responsibility. These are the core values that are constantly instilled into the Solo players, both on and off the field. And these are the same values that will make the players successful, not only on the rugby pitch, but in life.
History of Solano-Yolo Rugby Club
Solano-Yolo Rugby Club, also known as Solo Rugby, has a rich rugby tradition.
Founded in 2015 by the merger of the Dixon and Davis youth rugby programs, Solo Rugby subsequently embraced the Vacaville youth rugby program, and currently welcomes any Solano and Yolo County youth, male or female, 2nd through 8th grades, to join our different teams (High School, Middle School, U12 and U10). Dixon youth rugby was established by the late Rob Salaber in 2006, and won the National Rugby High School Championship in Utah in 2012. Vacaville also were National Champions in 2007. In addition, one of Davis’ players, Thretton Palamo, played nineteen times for the U.S. National Team (the “U.S.
Eagles”). Rugby in fact is so ingrained in this region that it can trace roots back to Babe Slater, a Woodland resident and UC Davis Graduate, who captained the U.S. Olympic Team to the Gold Medal in the 1924 Olympics.
We are honored to be able to continue the proud legacy of rugby in Northern California.
